“What Is This?”
“What Is This?”
Welcome To My Photo Puzzle Project
Hello, and welcome to my Photo Puzzle Project.
I was testing some photography equipment I had recently purchased and had set up some test scenarios to verify the equipment’s operation and reliability. When I was later reviewing the photographs, I noticed that I was viewing the objects I had used in my test-shots in a different perspective than I would if I had happened upon them on an average day. Although the objects are items I, or most people, would probably see everyday, they had a unique appearance that caused me to look more closely at them and study the amazing features. My thoughts went to the probability that most of us would rarely see these items in the perspective I was currently seeing them and not stop to look at them with any interest. Most of us lead busy lives and are in a constant rush to get to the next task on our list that needs to be completed. We tend to feel as though we don’t have the luxury of time to slow down and look at the people, places, and things around us with anything more than a passing glance. We pass by quickly and do not notice the details of what is in front of us, and barely recognize those details when presented in an alternate view as they are unfamiliar.
While pondering these thoughts I developed an idea to create a project to showcase common, everyday items that we see, and use, sometimes many times in the same day, and present them in a view that is different than we might normally look at them to see if they could be identified. My hopes for this project is to have the participants in my game slow down to look at the items. If we can be prompted to slow down and look more closely at the objects and items with a more critical-view, maybe we can begin to solve some of the more pressing issues in the world around us. I’m hoping you will join me in this little experiment and have as much enjoyment as I expect it will be!
Along the way I will offer hints and clues. As my goal of this project is to have the players of the game think critically and outside-the-box, you may find the clues provided may not point you directly at the solution, but cause you to think in the direction of the answer. It is not the intention of offering the hints to spoil the fun, but if the puzzle seems to cause to much difficulty, and there are very few guesses, I will give a little help along the way.
The following pages in this journal are the records of each of the individual puzzles with the initial Puzzle Description post, the Hints or Clues offered, Submitted Guesses sent in, the responding Replies To Guesses, and the Revealed Solution post that were entered in the social media page where this puzzle project was also displayed. If you prefer to try the puzzles without the assistance of the social media entries, the puzzles may be accessed from the Puzzle Home Page .

How closely do you look at objects that are used every day?
"What Is This?"
